The Household Cavalry Museum
FAQs
What do the venue fees include?
Exclusive use of the venue on your chosen evening for the full hire period. The full operational support from our Events Team in the run up to your event and one of our Event Managers to co-ordinate and deliver your event on the day.
What is the booking procedure?
Provisional dates can be held without commitment. The length of time that dates can be provisionally held depends on the popularity of the date. Clients will always be given notice and an opportunity to confirm before a provisionally held date is released from them. Once clients have notified us that they would like to book an event confirmation of an event requires a signed copy of the contract which is issued alongside our terms and conditions. The confirmation of all bookings is subject to the payment of 50% of the hire fee by the hirer within 30 days of receipt of the invoice. The balance invoice is issued the day after the event.
What is your cancellation policy for confirmed events?
The client may cancel their event by written notice to Lemon Drop Events. In the event of the booking being cancelled the deposit will be retained by Lemon Drop Events. If the Event is cancelled within 14 days of the event the full hire fee will be required.
Who will be present from the events team and what will they do?
You will have a member of the Events Team present on the day of your event to help co-ordinate proceedings. They will also oversee the planning of access for caterers, florists, musicians and other suppliers.
Can we bring in our own caterer or production company?
As the Household Cavalry Museum is a National Museum containing priceless works of art, the greatest of care must be taken to prevent damage. We work with a wide range of suppliers who have been vetted and specifically chosen for their quality of service and experience of working in, and taking care of, this beautiful Grade I listed building. We have tried to provide a comprehensive list to appeal to all tastes and budgets, however, we realise that every event is unique, so if you don’t find the perfect supplier for your specific requirements, please contact our team to discuss how we can accommodate you.
Can we use our own photographer, musician, entertainment or florist?
Yes, with the prior approval of the events team. All external suppliers need to abide by our terms and conditions and it is essential that any additional suppliers that clients choose have returned a signed agreement in advance of the event taking place. We have a selection of recommended photographers, music and entertainment organisers and florists that we regard highly should you need suggestions.
What time can caterers and suppliers have access to the space to set up?
The start of your hire period is museum closing time, and there is plenty of time for suppliers to prepare the space before the time an evening reception usually begins. All suppliers will liaise directly with the events team to arrange access.
Can we deliver or set up the day before an event?
Generally, all setup, breakdown and deliveries must be on the day of your event once the museum has closed, with prior consent and at times agreed with the events team. In some cases it is possible to hire out the space for consecutive days and leave equipment and furniture in situ.
Can we use our own electrical equipment in the venue?
All electrical equipment must be provided by Household Cavalry Museum approved suppliers. This is due to the sensitive nature of the museum as a venue, for health and safety and to ensure the success of your event.
Is dancing allowed at the venue?
Yes, dancing is allowed in both the museum itself and on the Parade Ground.
Can we smoke inside the venue?
No – not inside the museum, but smoking is permitted on the Parade Ground.
Can we have candles, and if so, what are the restrictions?
Candles are permitted, both on the Parade Ground and in the museum itself, but they must be in holders which cover the flame and, in the museum, the candles must be on tables, not on the floor.
Is there any parking at the venue?
Under certain circumstances, it may be possible to arrange parking for up to 200 vehicles as part of the venue hire fee. Additionally, a selection of car parks can be found nearby.
Is there disabled access at the Household Cavalry Museum?
We are committed to ensuring the Household Cavalry Museum is accessible to all visitors. All public areas of the museum are fully accessible for disabled and elderly guests.
Can we hire a space for a photo shoot or filming?
Absolutely. Please contact Lemon Drop Events and they will be able to assist with your enquiry.
How late can events run and can they be extended?
Receptions run from 18:30 - 21:30 and dinner/ dances from 18:30 - 23:30. Additional time can be arranged in advance for a fee of £1,500 pro-rata per hour until 1am. We are not able to extend events beyond 1am.
